Today is my day over at One By One The Flamingo's Are Stealing My Sanity. I am the Design Team Member in the spotlight today. Karel is so great to showcase each one of us with our projects and I know we're so eager to please her with them. I know this has been a wonderful experience for me to be on the Design Team and I'm loving it! I really am; it's been a joy to get to know each member of the team and the support that we express to each one when needed is such a blessing! I thank the Lord for each one of them.
Family Harvest Day
Family Harvest Day
Each year we look forward to celebrating harvest. We go to our nature center and enjoy the apple cider, barbecue chicken, corn on the cob, cinnamon donut (psst! Perfect with the cider), the favorite one of the family is the Kettle Corn. Oh does our little one love it!!! We get there and that’s the first words out of his mouth, “Can we get kettle corn Mama?” Hey, we have to just do it. We then spend time looking at all the crafters booths as there are well over a hundred there. The booths are interesting because you get to see all the mediums of crafts from things with wool to wooden sticks to pinecone air fresheners, pinecone fire starters. Oh, then the various foods that some of the crafters have… oh it’s good!!!! They even give out samples too. (I just have to remember to save my points for those, LOL) Then the contests they have oh they’re fun, there’s a fruit and vegetable carving contest is just one. There’s concerts, there’s puppet shows (those are funny!) there’s magic shows; my little one gets into those. He loves to help as well. There’s fun games for the children and they can win medals ~ they’re really neat they’re made from wood. There’s the petting zoo; that’s always interesting. Then the hayrides with the Clydesdale horses – that’s fun!!!! The part the little one loves the most and so do I is the face painting and the making of your own shirt. I love to do this with the little one. Now in honor of our day; my card.
Family Harvest Card
I used an 8 ½ x 11 piece of cardstock for my background. I then cut it in half at the 5 ½ “ point. I then used some fall leaf patterned paper that I had in my stash. I used twine that I had from a package I had. The heart conch is part of a package of them that I had for embellishments on doll dresses that I had made. The corn is something that I designed in Cricut Design Studio. I did have a couple on cartridges I own, but they just didn’t seem to fit the holiday so I designed one.
To finish the day we have our harvest plates and use them for our meal and we serve favorite harvest foods then have our snack of kettle corn then followed sometimes by ice cream. Now we have to have fun right we set up some of our own challenging games then talk about our day. Now I couldn't let y'all go without something special. Take a look!
Have a Happy Cricut Day,
