Book DescriptionYou’ll get through this.
It won’t be painless.
It won’t be quick.
But God will use this mess for good.
Don’t be foolish or naïve.
But don’t despair either.
With God’s help, you’ll get through this.
You fear you won't make it through. We all do. We fear that the depression will never lift, the yelling will never stop, the pain will never leave. In the pits, surrounded by steep walls and aching reminders, we wonder: Will this gray sky ever brighten? This load ever lighten?
In You'll Get Through This, pastor and New York Times best-selling author, Max Lucado offers sweet assurance. "Deliverance is to the Bible what jazz music is to Mardi Gras: bold, brassy, and everywhere." Max reminds readers God doesn't promise that getting through trials will be quick or painless. It wasn't for Joseph--tossed in a pit by his brothers, sold into slavery, wrongfully imprisoned, forgotten and dismissed--but his Old Testament story is in the Bible for this reason: to teach us to trust God to trump evil.
With the compassion of a pastor, the heart of a storyteller, and the joy of one who has seen what God can do, Max explores the story of Joseph and the truth of Genesis 50:20. What Satan intends for evil, God redeems for good.
I decided to get this one because it was recommended to me by a special family member. I decided to jump into this one after talking to my family member because of some of the things that we are dealing with as a family; some personally with me and with our son. I will touch on what I have been dealing with and how I have been getting through this as it has been over a year now.
I found with reading this really put why I love reading Max Lucado's books. I enjoyed how Max Lucado used the story of Joseph to show us how God uses the things that Satan uses to try to destroy what God makes powerful, wonderful, and fantastic in our lives. All we have to do is hold on and wait for the miracles God has for our lives!! I say this in full sincerity! I have been experiencing this very thing with God through this whole issue I have been dealing with my own health issues. I had been experiencing excruciating chest pain from injury caused through surgery. I have been to several doctors and specialists. I've had several medications some that worked others that didn't touch the pain. I've been through and still in Physical Therapy; the challenges that come with that are still there, but less frequent as they had been. After reading this book it really put things in perspective as well as talking with friends and my Pastor about the medical issues. I changed attitude long time ago when this started. I have received compliments from friends about my positive attitude and the strength that shone forward from me that in end blessed them.
I would highly recommend this book for you to read. I really enjoyed the book and I will be passing the book forward to friends and family that may be blessed from this book.
