This Is Your Captain Speaking Book Review

Good Morning everyone!  I haven't been on here in a while.  I have been working on things to get posted.  I hope to get them up soon.
When I got this book to review I thought it would be interesting as Gavin MacLeod was in a couple shows that I used to watch growing up.  I didn't realize that it would be such a quick read.  I laughed at parts and many others were interesting I also learned as well that he attended school not too far from where I live.  That made it more interesting.   I was glad to get this one to review.  What intrigued me to start reading this book was to learn of Gavin MacLeod's faith in Christ.  I too am a christian, my faith is very important to me.  I picked this book up and began reading and immediately I could feel the pain, the happiness, the emotions that Gavin MacLeod wrote in his book.  You felt that you were right there in the mix of what was going on.  He always saw the good in every situation that was put before him; even when things looked grim.  That is an important trait that we should all try to achieve is to see the good in each situation even when things don't look well.  I have experienced this in our family's life.  My son has been diagnosed with a challenging medical issue.  I was taken back and saddened by this, but it was due to lack of information about this.  I took control of things and began doing my research; asking more questions; more research.  I am feeling better about this now because I have information at hand.  I could see this in the way Gavin MacLeod handled some of the experiences he experienced as he wrote about them.
I also enjoyed reading about his coming to the Lord.  He was going through a rough time when his Mother was gravely ill.  He prayed for her.  Things changed in his life during this time as well with his ex-wife Patti.  Things changed between them and when they reunited he found that his ex-wife Patti too had become a Christian. Their marriage was restored.
Through this book by the time you get to the end you feel that you know Gavin MacLeod very well...more than just and actor...more than someone you knew growing up in a show that you watched....you feel that you know him as a friend.  I really enjoyed this book.  I recommend it to anyone to read.  Enjoy!!!!
I was given this book to write a review for Booksneeze.  My opinions expressed are my own.  I was not influenced to write a positive review.

Thanks for stopping by!!! Have a wonderful Weekend Everyone!!!

Grace & Peace,
