Because of the Brave Blog Hop

Posted by Leah
I thank Nicolette for having me in this hop. I am honored to be a part of it as I am married to my NAVY Sailor.  He is now a Veteran.  He began his Naval career in '84.  He then ended his tour of duty two years after the Persian Gulf War.  We went through many deployments.  I will say the life wasn't easy, but I always stood by my Sailor.  I was there when it came time for re-enlistment.  I stood by him during all deployments. I was there to write letters to him; receive his calls. I did not go home to family, because I didn't want to miss his calls and or letters. I was a Naval Ombudsman for a while when we were stationed at the Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Va. I was happy to do all that I could for the families of the service members that were deployed. Prior to this he was stationed on the IWO JIMA LPH2 here is a picture of the ship.  This is an amphibious assault ship.

I know this was a tough time for us. We weren't married long then he was deployed.  Seemed like he was away more than he was home ~ I just stood strong and waited on my sailor to come home.  This layout is not quite complete. I have been piecing his pictures together from various deployments and want to place them in the right place for his scrapbook.  This is his scrapbook from the front.  I will continue putting things in this and hope to get more photos up as I complete it for him.

I hope you've been enjoying the hop so far and all the great projects you've seen to honor our Veterans.  If you just stopped by to see what I've been up to thanks for stopping by.   I'd really like if you'd join us on the hop and start with our lovely hostess Nicolette at Beyond Scrapin'. If you've been hopping along and arrived here from Michelle at Peanut Butter & Jelly Designs then you're in the right place.

On this layout I have the rosette surrounding the Naval Symbol I have since changed it to just touch around it instead of the symbol sitting on the top it's at the center point of the  rosette. I have been hiding this from hubby ~ it's a gift for him.  Will be giving it to him soon.

I'll also leave you with a picture of my "Mighty Sailor" hehe.  I just love him so much!! Honey, Thank you for serving our country and protecting us.  I know you're so proud to be a Veteran as I am proud to be your wife.  Now, Sweetie one more thing.... "Amen, Praise the LORD, hallelujah & pass the ammunition!"

Now I will send you on to Anita at Anita & Bugs....again thank you for stopping.  If while you're out and about today or any day; you see one of our military men or women ~ do something great ~ tell them "Thank You" ~ those two words go a long ways!  More than you know ~ they mean so much to them.  I know it means a lot to my husband when someone says it to him for his service to our country.

Thank you to all our Veteran's, Service Members in all branches of Military!  Happy Veteran's Day to you all!!

Have a Blessed Day,
